Thanks to Dr. Ibeas’ initiative (I3PT Researcher), last 3rd October the Synchrotron ALBA opened its doors to the Innovation Unit of Parc Taulí (UDIPT) guided by Dr. Ibraheem Yousef and Imma Martinez (Scientist Responsible and postdoc of the beamline BL01-MIRAS).

Last Wednesday 23th, we attended the Jornades R+D+I TIC Salut Social on Virtual Reality (VR) (take a look at the programme). Guillem Navarra, neuropsychologist researcher, and Lídia Martí, ICU nurse, were invited to present their projects using VR to improve both patient experience and recover:

Two innovative projects from Parc Taulí Hospital (ANAIS medical, and Nephrocloud) have been presented to the 1st Spanish congress on vascular access (GEMAV) held in Barcelona on 14-16 November 2019. Dr. Jose Ibeas, senior consultant in nephrology, vicepresident of the GEMAV, and member of the organizing committee, is leading both projects in collaboration with the industry for their development and commercialization.

This week we were at Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) presenting the opportunities in public procurements for innovation at Parc Taulí. SCEWC is a referent international event for smart cities that brings together leader representatives from worldwide municipalities, institutions, research centers, companies, and entrepreneurs. This year, the SCEWC focused on five main topics: digital transformation, urban environment, mobility, governance and finance, and inclusive and sharing cities.

The Collider Program 2019 is an initiative promoted by The Mobile World Capital and the Generalitat of Catalunya to bring valuable research into the market. The last edition of  the programe contributed for the constitution of three new start-ups.

Taby Diagnostics and Safety Hug are two innovative projects that have recently been awarded by FIPSE (Fundación par la Innovación y la Prospectiva en Salud en España). The grant will give the projects the financial resources to cover those expenses associated to the evaluation of the market opportunity.
